Her siblings Julie Anne, Seth, Douglas, Sarah Kathryn and Spencer are happy to have a new little sister. Mary Elizabeth is the daughter of Derek and Leigh Douglas Johnson, granddaughter of Douglas and Kathy Owens Johnson and great granddaughter of Seth and Kathleen VanHoose Johnson (Uncle Seth and Aunt Kathleen). The C. Mac Johnson Farmer’s Market Day drew a tremendous crowd to the Montgomery State Farmers’ Market on Saturday, 9 July 2011. There were prizes, awards, exhibits, and live entertainment. Most especially, the host of Alabama citizens came to honor the memory and hard work of Charles McIntyre Johnson, Sr. (Uncle Mac) in founding and promoting the Alabama Farmers’ Market. At right, Aunt Gene receives a special citation honoring Uncle Mac presented by Governor and Mrs. Bentley and Commissioner of Agriculture McMillan. Welcome, Davis McIntyre Aldridge!

We’ve received the wonderful news of the birth of Davis McIntyre Aldridge to Ro and Rebecca Caroline Davis Aldridge. He was born on 10 May 2011. He weighed 8 pounds and was 21 1/2 inches long. Little Davis is the grandson of George and Gene Burt Johnson Davis and great-grandson of Charles McIntyre and Gene Burt Johnson (Uncle Mac and Aunt Gene).

Grandmother Gene Burt says,

Mom and Baby are doing fine and big brother [Lanier] and Dad are very proud. Grandparents and Uncle Jacob are enjoying spoiling him! Great Grandmother can't wait to hold him.

C Mac Johnson Day is THIS SATURDAY!


Come to the State Farmers’ Market in Montgomery this Saturday and celebrate C. Mac Johnson Day! You don’t want to miss this! There will be prizes, awards, exhibits, entertainment AND special honor of Charles McIntyre Johnson, Sr. (Uncle Mac) at approximately 10:00 a.m.! This is an annual event at which Uncle Mac is honored and remembered by the citizens of Alabama. Uncle Mac was instrumental in establishing the State Farmers’ Market, and he promoted it for many years.

UPDATE II - 8 July 2010, 9:10 a.m. -- This just in from Gene Burt Johnson Davis, daughter of Uncle Mac and Aunt Gene,

Mama spoke with Rob who coordinates the produce auction and he said that the auction would begin around 10:00 or 10:30. Due to her health and the hot weather, Mama hopes she can be there.
